Observation hypothesis
A relatively dry sentence can open a wet world. Discrete language may be the architecture through which residue becomes visible.
比較的乾いた文が、湿った世界を開きうる。離散的な言語は、残留が見えるようになるための建築でありうる。
This is not a claim that Murakami is X. It is a reading hypothesis: short sentences, objects, numbers, clock time, music, brands, and ordinary gestures can look like a switchboard. People appear and disappear as if toggled.
Yet the worlds those sentences describe often keep the dead, the missing, the past, loss, another world, memory, and dream. CLICK → OFF → … → REMAINS.
Early Murakami observation — not a closed interpretation of specific novels — notices ON/OFF, radio, telephone, music starting and ending, summer beginning and ending, emotional distance, American literary influence, and a translation-like rhythm.
What happens when Japanese experience is written through a language architecture shaped partly by English?

初期村上の観測——特定作品の閉じた解釈ではない——は、ON/OFF、ラジオ、電話、音楽の開始と終了、夏の始まりと終わり、感情的距離、アメリカ文学の影響、翻訳のようなリズムに注目する。
英語によって部分的に形づくられた言語建築を通して、日本的経験が書かれたとき、何が起きるのか。
