Observation hypothesis
Digital systems can uncouple biological ending from social ending. BIOLOGICAL OFF is not DIGITAL OFF.
デジタルなシステムは、生物学的終了と社会的終了を切り離しうる。BIOLOGICAL OFF は DIGITAL OFF ではない。
A person may go offline forever while remaining as an SNS account, old email, voice recording, photograph, browser history, cloud folder, AI chat log, avatar, digital twin, or dead-user account.
Does digital technology make death less discrete? One possible reading: it increases residue by default. Deletion becomes a separate ritual, often unfinished.
Legal identity, memories, possessions, family roles, obligations, photographs, voice, and AI traces do not share a single OFF switch.
The observatory question is not only whether someone has died. It is what remains addressable.
